VIX Final Presentation

ALL VIX TEAMS PRESENT THEIR FINAL WORK AT THE SHOWCASE.
The entire team must attend and present!

In the summer
5min video + 3min live demo + 3min questions

In the fall and spring
3min video, powerpoint presentation, OR live demo + 3min questions
These are very rigid time limits to allow everyone to present!

Your video/presentation should start by giving background and context on the problem and existing solutions and shortcomings, explain your team’s approach, and summarize what you have accomplished! It doesn’t have to be overly serious, have fun with it, but remember to keep it grounded and include as much information as possible. This is mostly for your peers, but we often share these videos and slides with Vanderbilt faculty and external collaborators to show what we do in the program.

Your live demo is a chance for you to show your prototype in action!

Upload Final Video / Presentation here – Due Monday December 1 at noon

Please remember to clean up your gidhub workspace and put away your supplies before you leave at the end of the term!
If you plan to continue your project, you may leave it in a LABELED container in gidhub. Otherwise please disassemble!

Content Suggestions

Here are some suggestions to give you ideas on what your video and demo can include (you can choose any number of these to showcase or you can go a completely different direction!)

What you learned:

  • improved skills – State the equipment or techniques that you learned

  • physical objects – show anything you made while learning

  • simple instructions – explain how to do what you learned

  • unexpected failures – show all the ways that you made mistakes while learning

  • future plans – say how you may use your new skills in the future

Progress you made:

  • what is it – introduce & describe your solutions (design reqs, features, functions)

  • how it works – explain, show, demo, etc. & include how users will interact

  • prove it – validation & verification results

  • why it works – market conditions, target market (adoption strategy)

  • protect it – what IP strategy would you use?

  • compare it – what else is out there? how are you different/better?

  • revisit it – show your validated MVP w/callouts & restate the problem it solves

Note: If something doesn’t fit or make sense for your project, talk to us and we can help you figure out what to do!
