The Gidhub Guild

More advanced Gidhub projects may require more time and care than can be condensed into the usual one-off, one-hour-long trainings. So, in addition to the usual training and workshops, students will have the opportunity to join the Gidhub Guild and work on lengthier, structured projects over 4-6 weeks in small groups of two to 3 fellow SyBBUREites, journeying toward mastery of our Gidhub tools and a more creative, well-rounded mindset for future projects.

What is a Gidhub Guild Project?

Option 1: Gidhub Guild Odyssey Subscription

Instead of a traditional VIX project, VIX teams can sign up for the Gidhub Guild Odyssey Subscription.

VIX Teams will:

  1. Be required to participate in and complete all sessions associated with 2 separate Gidhub Guild Projects before the end of the semester.

    • 1-1.5 hours/week for 4-6 weeks = Normal weekly VIX commitment

    • Sessions will be run by Guild Leaders Jad and/or Bryce.

  2. Submit Mockups and Project Roadmap with group goals for their chosen Gidhub Guild Projects on time.

  3. Complete a Midway Presentation on their first completed Gidhub Guild Project and a Final Presentation on their second completed Gidhub Guild Project.

***We are piloting this during the fall semester, so only 10 Odyssey Subscriptions (3 VIX teams of 3-4) will be available for this semester.***

Option 2: Gidhub Guild Quest Pass

Want to participate, but you have a really great idea for a VIX project this semester? That’s okay! Any SyBBURE student can sign up for an individual Gidhub Guild Quest Pass.

  • Interested students will be put into small groups to decide which Guild Project they want to choose for that module.

    • Sessions will be run by Guild Leaders Jad and/or Bryce.

    • 1-1.5 hrs per week for 4-6 weeks*

      • *Participating with a Quest Pass is an optional commitment outside of the required 10 hours of SyBBURE per week.

    • More flexible schedule, adapts to the needs of those in the group (i.e. multiple times per week or once every two weeks)

    • Optional opportunity to share project during ThinkTank.

***We are piloting during the fall semester, so only 4 Quest Passes will be available each module (8 Quest Passes per semester).***
