Poster Printing
SyBBURE purchased a poster printer in January 2023. All posters prepared after this date must be printed on our printer which is located in GH3.
Plan ahead. Make sure that the poster is printed as early as possible. Printing 3 days before you need it is a good idea. This allows time to correct any software or printing errors. The other authors on your poster (should include PI and student mentor(s)) should be given at least 24 hours to review your poster before printing.
Printer Model: Epson SureColor SC-T5170M
UltraChrome XD2 T40W High-Capacity Ink Cartridges: T40W120 (black), T40W220 (cyan), T40W320 (magenta), T40W420 (yellow)
Paper roll: 2 inch core, 36 inch width, 100 foot length, such as HP Q6575A

The estimated cost of SyBBURE-printed posters is ~$2-$3 per foot (length). A 36 inch by 48 inch poster costs the program approximately $12 in paper and ink. Please be sure that your poster is finalized BEFORE printing. SyBBURE does not approve of reprints for small errors, and anyone caught abusing their access to this resource will lose privileges.
Instructions:
Prepare your poster in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, tiff
Power on the poster printer by holding the power button (upper left) for a couple seconds.
Access the computer adjacent to the poster printer. This desktop has a hardwired connection to the poster printer and the associated printer drivers and utilities have been installed.
Open the Epson Print Automate software on the computer.
Access your poster file from the computer and drag the file to the Epson Print Automate user interface.
Read through the printer settings on the right side of the Epson Print Automate software. Choose whether to fit the short side or long side of your print to the paper width, which is 36 inches.
The print will take approximately 5-10 minutes per foot (length), depending on the color density of the printed space. Multiple jobs can be queued in the Epson Print Automate software.
SyBBURE will not fund or reimburse printing from outside sources after January 2023. To print at the BRET Office you must gain access through iLab (you need to make an iLab account first). Once logged in to your iLab account, search “BRET”. Next, click on “Vanderbilt BRET Poster Printing Core” and follow the instructions on the following page. You will need account numbers from your lab to pay for the service. SyBBURE no longer funds printing from outside services.
