Community Engagement

EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE (AND SHOULD) IN THESE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES, THOUGH MOST ARE OPTIONAL

To help you grow and develop within our unique community, we have a bunch of stuff for you to engage in.

If you want to help run something on this page, or something not on this page, talk to anyone on Team SyBBURE and we’ll help you get plugged in.

Connectivity

Pay attention to requirements – Some holistic development activities are required, some are optional. It will say if they are optional, so keep an eye out.

  • Optional Smoptional – the optional stuff is there for your enrichment. So, take advantage of it. It doubles as a way to get to know your peers in the program.

  • Speak up – if you don’t find things you’re into, tell us (nicely, please) and be willing to help out.

  • Engage – I feel like I’m being redundant here, but your community participation is part of this program, A BIG PART! So, make it worth it.

Growth

Training – During the academic year, we offer trainings as requested. During the summer we offer multiple training seminars weekly.

If you want to learn something else just contact a Team SyBBURE member or GidHub Guardian!

Creativity

Arts and crafts – Show off your crafty side or learn a new skill. Make art.

Fun

Off-campus Events – Typically reserved for the summer and require an approval from either Jon, Katie, Jad or Kyle.

Board Games – Think you are good at Smash? Come find out or play board games with your peers.

Hikes – Get moving and see all the parks in Nashville (and some more intense hikes to the east). There may be a dog or two. Reach out to Bryce or Jon if you want to plan your own hike.

Single Events – Look out for one off events that don’t fit into any other category and will only happen once! Maybe bingo, maybe game night, tell us what you want. Not to be confused with Singles’ Events.
