House Competition

Everyone participates in the house competition! The house competition is a combination of fun, VIX, motivating nonsense, and community-building good times.

Throughout the summer, points will be awarded to wholesome gangs or their members for:

  • winning competitive activities organized by the House Competition Planning Committee

  • completing VIX activities during ThinkTank

  • stepping up in SyBBURE by helping setup/teardown for events

  • leading activities, hosting trainings or fun events

  • making outstanding progress in research or VIX

  • and much, much more!

What is SyBBURE PUNK?

The summer theme is SyBBURE PUNK! In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, it is up to you to carve a path forward that feels personally significant and meaningful. As you navigate and learn more about the world around you, there will be many things that are outside of your control. Don’t let this dictate how you move through life, and instead take ownership of what you do have the ability to control. Your actions and the bonds you forge with others are what define you. To be SyBBURE PUNK is to be empowered to collectively envision and work to build a better world.

SyBBURE PUNK Gameplay

This summer, you have been sorted into a wholesome gang each excelling in one of four attributes:

Voodoo Vipers | RAM Runners | Crypto Cats | Bionic Bears
 Charisma Dexterity Technology Intelligence

Take advantage of the various activities we have planned to get to know everyone in the program, earn experience points (XP) and level up your wholesome gang’s attributes!

There are four attributes that you can upgrade by earning XP: charisma, dexterity, technology, and intelligence. Each wholesome gang has a strength that will boost their XP for that specific attribute, but any wholesome gang can level up any and all of the four attributes! As you gain XP, you will hit milestones which unlock prizes, events, or even give you an advantage at various challenges throughout the summer.

Some activities will give you specific attribute points (e.g. 3D printer training = technology points) while some will give you ‘unassigned’ XP. There will be time at ThinkTank each week for your house to decide how to allocate any ‘unassigned’ XP across the four attributes.
